On 2/16/21, Unless Media officially launched, it is so unbelievably exciting to say that we have been here for an entire year.
I'm overwhelmed with this feeling that I've simply blinked, and now, somehow, we're here. If we haven't met yet, I'm Taylor 🙋🏼♀️, Founder and Lead Digital Strategist of Unless Media.
It's hard to believe that we launched 372 days ago today (we've been celebrating for the last week, so we're a little late on the post😉). This past year was probably the most significant and hardest-earned milestone so far. We've all heard them say that the first year in business is always the hardest, but being the year 2021… well, it definitely wasn't easy! Becoming a first time entrepreneur has been quite the roller coaster filled with rewarding highs and lows of doubts and uncertainty, and lots and lots of "teaching moments."
It is amazing to say that in this past year, I have been able to not only grow my own business but work with and help grow some incredible businesses, big and small. It blows my mind every day that I get to work with so many inspiring brands not only in the Hudson Valley and Capital Region area but businesses nationwide. From New York, California, and Texas, to states in between, every business I have gotten the chance to work with has taught me so much and inspired me in a new way.
So much can happen in a year, like SO much. If you have a goal, a dream, or a desire, just start. Yes, it is understandable that starting is probably the most challenging part, but it doesn't have to be. Unless Media grew out of the sole desire to leave a 9-5 corporate marketing job to work with small businesses and brands, helping them find their voice and grow their name in a space that seems so intimidating. From a simple desire to a basic creation of an Instagram account, Unless Media grew into everything I've dreamed of and more. Yes, things have changed, and that's okay. That's better than okay. That should show that it doesn't need to be perfect when you start. Just START. From the day we launched to now, a year later, our logo is different, and our website is different; our content and focus are so different. So if you've been looking for a sign, here it is. START.✨
Despite all of the craziness of this year, the one thing that remains is how appreciative I am for every single one of you. Thank you for every like, dm, follow, referral, share, and feedback. Your support and encouragement allowed me to leave my corporate job and
pursue my dream.
And while I sit here so proud of what our first year has brought, what is most exhilarating for me is how motivated and excited I am about what this next year will bring, the growth, the challenges, the highs, and the lows (you can't run away from the lows), everything. I hope you continue to follow along with us on this journey, and more than anything, I hope we can help you in some way!
